Children's dental care

Good habits early make dentist visits easier as kids grow up.

  • Wipe or brush gums even before the first tooth appears.
  • First dental visit by age one, or when the first tooth erupts.
  • Use a rice-grain sized smear of fluoride toothpaste for children under 3.
  • Limit sugary snacks and drinks. Don't let a child fall asleep with a bottle of milk or juice.
